She is all of 25 years old, and after achieving things teenagers dream of, still raring to go on. Ankita Rathore, pageant winner, personality development trainer counselor and mentor, refuses to let any single profession describe her potential, and advises the same to others. A tomboy in school and facing body shaming and bullying in college, she toughened the leader inside her to chart a successful trajectory of her own.

Ankita remembers the day when she had failed in beauty pageants, and had been told she didn’t look like a winner. She thought she was destined to be that office employee sitting in a corner. Her only laurel was winning ‘Ms Photogenic’ at Amity University in 2013.

In 2014, things changed when, after being encouraged by a friend, she applied for Fem Miss India North Princess. This was the beginning of a new journey that hasn’t ended till today. Ankita won the show, along with a second title of ‘HERO Motocorp Ms Perfect Catwalk’. She hasn’t looked back since.

Coming out of her pageant glory days, Ankita tried online entrepreneurship with a clothing store called Unofficial Fashion that didn’t succeed. The pressures of handling work and fame finally took a toll and Ankita found herself battling depression and bipolar disorder.

Encouraged by her parents, Ankita took control of her life and decided to help others facing similar issues. In addition to her roles as an influencer, coach and guider, she is also a recognized mental health mentor, and holds mental health sessions on the online platform Spactre.

You have to give yourself hope, give yourself joy, give yourself the freedom to make mistakes and tell your heart that it’s all right. Regardless of what may happen or what has gone wrong in the past. Regardless of the doubt holding you back, or the rules this world imposes upon you,” says Ankita.

Among her other achievements, Ankita has won the NSS Achiever Award in 2018 for being a pageant winner turned entrepreneur, and the Vaseline Healthy White Fairness League 2014. On the education front, Ankita is well studied, holding a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from the Chennai University in 2017.

With her experience in beauty pageants, Ankita has been invited to judge various pageants and events, including Isabella Thoburn College (Lucknow) Aura in 2017, Beau Monde Fashion Show, Ms UP Scholarship Pageant 2018, NSS Talent Hunt 2018, Mr. & Ms. North India Sapphire Continental 2019 and many more.

On the family side, Ankita has always received support from her parents, Mr. Ravindra Singh Rathore, who is in LDA, and her mother Mrs. Manju Singh Rathore, a homemaker.

At present, Ankita is busy with her influencer role with Buzzerati, Voxxy, BuzzOne and other agencies. She has also worked with photographers and adorned the cover pages and features columns in Lab, Kriti, Glam Trends, Amar Ujala, Anokhi, etc. Her work on Spactre is popular and she intends to hold sessions in schools and colleges as well.

The truth is, you have to give yourself permission sometimes—permission to fail, permission to be fearless and maybe not have it all figured out. And give yourself permission to Believe,” says Ankita.
